28-01-08 Playlist / Download / Wreckshop / Gigs

Jibbering Live returns this Saturday for the First gig of the New Year, as it's a hip-hop based blog you'll be most interested in Def Tex performing as a live band, a show not to miss!

Heres the cover for Aroe's incredible "The Wreckshop Vol 1", I played a section from it on last nights show, and DAMN, I want the whole thing! As soon as it's available I'll let you know but for now enjoy the section I played.

Have a great week, enjoy the show and feel free to leave requests and comments in the err comments section! More Kurious news to follow later in the week

Kurious A Constipated Monkey Demo Snippets

As it's almost time to start taking presales on the Kurious Constipated Demo Sessions it's only right I put some snippets up for your listening pleasure. Full details of how to buy the release will go up next week but I advise sending an email to crateescaperecords@gmail.com to register your interest as there are only 200 copies for sale (limited to 2 per person). Also feel free to add us on myspace.

The ep contains 6 tracks not featured on the Constipated Monkey album, feel free to ask any questions, but please don't ask for me to post the full tracks, the only way to get them in this quality and length is this vinyl release. Production is handled by the SD50's, Prince Paul, Prime Minister Pete Nice and Sam Sever.

Here's the snippets

Main Ingredient Download 21-01-08 and other stuff

shout to Alex who won the DJ Krush competition last week, nowt to give away this week besides the show download which is below, managed to slip in a few of my '07 favourites I forgot about. Thanks to all who came out to Funkbox on Friday too, next ones going to be a bit special but I'll write more about it closer to the time. Finishing off my best of '07 list so that should be up this week (quite a big list too which is both suprising and good, Nas obviously isn't looking in the right placesor listening to my show! Top 20 updated on the right too.

Check out the Paddy Shop in my links for some great downloads and pictures / articles and if you haven't bookmarked the Unkut, Daily Diggers or Phil Most the Soulmans blog I advise you check them out now, they're what the internet was made for although some of you will disagree and say it was made for porn, in which case check out Freaky Fridays on the Fatlace blog! (gotta keep it hip-hop related) They write about hip hop stuff too and get lots of flack for being honest about wack rappers and have a sense of humour, so full props to them!

Been a great start to the year for vinyl with the Unique EP coming out on Diggers With Gratitude (One's on ebay if you missed out on that gem...my write up to follow). Vinyl Addicts announced their first release which is Lord Finesse's demos...again only 200 copies, not sure how many are left but be quick, the snippets sound incredible. Support the vinyl!

Comments appreciated as always

Have a good week

DJ Krush Giveaway, Best of 07 Part 2 Free Download and Gigs...

Heres Part 2 to my best of 07, apologies to Saad as I forgot to bring Edan Sagitarius Rapp with me, I'll play it next week (promise!) along with the final few favourites that didn't make it onto last nights show. I'm giving away a pair of tickets to see DJ Krush, Oneself and The Herbaliser live on 4 decks this Saturday too, their playing at Koko in London as Krush is launching a new DVD, details below.

To win the pair of tickets you just need to email me (djcrobirmingham@gmail.com) telling me the title of DJ Krush's first album, simple as that. First correct answer gets the tickets (remember to include your real name and the guest you'll be bringing with you). I'll post up the winner in the week.

This Friday is Funkbox at the Yardbird with Mylz (Heducation) and Ceasa guesting along with the residents, photo's from the Natural Self Night before Xmas to follow. My top 20 will move somewhere on the right of the blog too and
Jibbering sale ends on Thursday so be quick if you want to get a bargain.

Happy listening and good luck in the competition
