Home Cookin is proud to present the Breakfest opening party hosted by UK Hip-Hop legend SPARKII SKI and local hero Mad Flow.

WHO IS SPARKII SKI??

For those of you who don't know, Sparkii is a true veteran and pioneer of the UK Hip Hop scene.
A mentor to London Posse, he did production duties on their classic Gangster Chronicles album and also master-minded the Modern Day Jazz Story album with Courtney Pine and DJ Pogo.
From rapping with MC Melo, to remixing Blade and producing and programming for everyone from Monie Love to Beverley Knight, commisions from English National Opera, soundtracks and lectures; Sparkii has done it all.
He is also one of the prime movers behind the international King Of The Beats production competition.

Breakfest kicks off the next day and the party gets started with a bang at the yardbird on Friday night.

The last 12 months has been terrific for Freestyle, with some tremendous parties going down on a monthly basis. 2010 has seen the night step up to a weekly Friday slot and for our first birthday party the Bull's Head plays host to our biggest event yet.

Spread over two floors of musical goodness, upstairs sees the return of Funkbox's Ritchie Re-Issue who tore the place to pieces back in October with a mind blowing blend of funk, soul, hip hop, rock 'n' roll, reggae and anything else with a killer groove. He'll be joining me on the Bull's Head wheels of steel for a four deck, two mixer spectacular, with extra tracks, acappellas, scratches, loops, breaks, beats and anything else we can get our hands on thrown into the mix. Not to be missed!

FREESTYLE This Friday @ The Bulls Head

I'm currently getting all the Soundsci Remixes together and uploaded so hold tight, had a great response with entries from all over the world, many thanks to everyone who has taken part.

Sam Redmore's FREESTYLE night has just gone weekly and he's got me playing tomorrow night. FREE before 10pm and £2 after, if you need more info click here I'll be playing a selection of hip-hop, funk, reggae, soul and anything else that takes my fancy

The rules are simple, remix any track of your choice using the acapella’s provided (we’ve tagged the bpm’s on the end for ease). You can listen to the originals here http://soundsci.bandcamp.com/album/dig-for-victory-ep (if you purchase the release you’ll get an additional 3 acapella’s all of which can be used too). Then submit your remix to info@crateescaperecords.com You have until the Monday 18th January to send your remix, with the winner being chosen by Soundsi and featured on a future release, sample clearance permitting, not that we’d advocate that sort of thing obviously ;) In submitting it you agree to us putting it up on bandcamp so listeners can also judge for themselves and to be as fair to each producer as possible, please also include credits and contact details if you would like them listed. Audessey and U-George will also record a track for free for the winner as a prize or Jonny will make you a beat if you rap too, can’t say fairer than that!
